News Release For Immediate Release Dave Tinetti Releases His First CD On ULTIMASONGS is proud to announce the release of Dave Tinetti's new CD called "On More Try". Dave gave ULTIMASONGS Records the exclusive release of his CD. 35 years later… I’ve decided to record these songs so that I can finally have space in my brain for other things. Some of them have been in my head for decades. Maybe I’ll write some new ones! The best part of doing this has been reconnecting with my old friends. As I have made various excursions from music through the years, these guys stayed with it, and have excelled. When I approached them to help me record the songs professionally, they did not just roll their eyes (yes they did) and say, “Sure, we’ll help ya Davy”. They got themselves together with some of their amazing musician friends to produce something I never imagined possible. I never liked how my music sounded once it left my head. Until now. If you listen to any of it, and like it, we can thank them. Scooter, Sean, Dik, Tom, Steve, Ryan, Elwood, Jerome, Brian, Kenni, Aimee, Sara: you guys are awesome. I wrote all the songs, sang on a few of them, played some guitar, programmed and arranged some instruments, voices and harmonies. Sean Turner, the twin cities resident musical genius, arranged and performed his own piano parts, keyboards, strings, synths, you name it… truly amazing. I am not worthy. Scooter, the consummate purist, insisted on doing all the drumming with real, not “fake” drums. Ok, he’s a way better drummer than I am a drum machine programmer. (And maybe they sound better too?) Yes, the guy can drum. And sing. And chew gum. All at the same time. I’ve seen him do it. And he can be credited with getting this big ball rolling. Finding, assembling and recording the players and singers, and overseeing the project to the end. Did I mention he’s my buddy? Little Dik Shopteau, well, he’s turned into quite the accomplished bass player, performer, sound engineer, mixer, and from what I understand, skier. As in downhill. Whatever Dik. Just be careful. Tom Williams can still play the guitar, as can Brian Peters. Listen to their solos. No, I’m not jealous. Steve McLoone sings the title track “One More Try” as well as “I Can’t Follow.” This guy can sing. Jerome Beckley does “For The Letters.” He can sing. My vocal tracks pale in comparison. Dave “Elwood” Williams plays drums on “It’s All In Your Head.” Kick ass! Is it live or is it Memorex? Kenni Holman, who I understand is one of the best sax players in the business, plays on three songs. What?! Am I dreaming? Aimee Lee does amazing lead vocals on two songs, as well as background vocals with Sara Renner on more songs. Thanks tons you guys. Well, although I did have the honor and great privilege of playing with some of these people back in the day, I now enjoy sitting out there with all of you and listening to them play, and it is delightful. I am humbled to have them play on my album. I, and all of them, thank you for listening. Dave Tinetti Titles and Players 1.
